Stand Up Paddle Yoga Retreat 7 Days / 6 Nights
Costa Rica Yoga Retreats & Packages

Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) has become the most popular emerging water sport today due to its accessibility for anyone who wants to try, its ease to learn and the fun and work-out that results. SUP and Yoga are a perfect match from the physical overall body conditioning to improved balance and mental clarity to the profound sense of spiritual connection with the elements of Mother Nature.

Costa Rica SUP & Yoga Retreat is located in the town of Santa Teresa, one of the best Pacific beaches in Costa Rica for its expansiveness and beautiful scenery. The various beaches along Santa Teresa cover about three miles of coastline and are ideal for hanging out under a palm tree, for taking long walks or exploring the tide pools. It has also been rated in the top 10 beaches in the world on TripAdvisor and, due to its relative remoteness, it has been protected from any over-development and maintains a low-key feel.

This retreat is ideal for those who enjoy an active and healthy vacation and want to learn Stand Up Paddling, or take it to the next level, and explore the breathtaking beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula. Water temperatures are in the low to mid 80sF so no wetsuit is needed.

The yoga is for mixed levels of experience with posture modifications always offered for those with less experience and for those more advanced. All levels are welcome. The style of yoga practiced is Vinyasa Flow with influences from Anusara Yoga which are more active styles and synchronize the poses with the breath creating a rhythmic flow of movement. It is about the integration of mind, body and breath with a focus on improved flexibility, alignment, balance and strength to build and maintain a healthy body. Practicing yoga surrounded by Costa Rica’s magical pura vida energy naturally leaves one blissfully relaxed and lifted with inspiration.

The retreat gives one opportunity to disconnect from a busy lifestyle, to relax in an easy-going tropical setting and to enjoy some personal time to just Be.
First day, Sunday: Travel to Santa Teresa from San Jose international airport (See the section “Arrival & Departure” for more details.). You are welcome to arrive early to late afternoon. The retreat starts in the early evening with an orientation and group dinner.
